Free Vector | Christmas celebrating with social distancing

This holiday season will be unlike any other due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.  The Center for Disease Control has recommended minimizing social gatherings due to health and safety concerns.  Christmas has always been a holiday full of traditions surrounded by family and friends.  But just because your Christmas plans have changed it doesn’t mean you can’t get in the holiday spirit at home.

Once all the presents have been unwrapped, you can cook a festive breakfast or bake Christmas treats.  After breakfast, you and your family can have a Christmas sing-along or play games it is up to you to decide.  But don’t miss our Christmas day activities below to keep your family busy and merry all day.

Holiday Activities to Consider

  • Decorate Christmas cookies. You can make baking cookies an activity with the whole family.  Before you get started, make sure to have on hand cookie cutters, frosting and sprinkles.
  • Make a video call to Santa.  Meeting Santa is a great experience, unfortunately this year they may not get to see him in person.  But they can always video chat with him!
  • Host a virtual Christmas celebration.  Invite friends and family virtually to exchange gifts or have Christmas dinner together.
  • Throw a virtual dance party or “ugly” sweater contest.  Again you can invite friends and family to join the festivities.
  • Make commemorative ornaments.  You and your kids can create ornaments by mixing a salt dough recipe – just flour, salt, and water.  Or buy supplies at your local craft store.
  • Read a Christmas book.  Let your kids pick out a book and read it to them while eating Christmas treats.
  • Have a Christmas movie marathon.  Watching movies is a great way to spend time together and unwind after festivities end.
  • Play games.  No celebration is complete without a few party games.  For example, reindeer ring toss, charades, or Pictionary.
  • Look at Christmas lights.  Drive or walk around your community to look at decorations from a safe distance.
  • Attend a virtual Christmas mass service.  Churches will be hosting virtual Christmas Eve and Christmas day mass to worship in the safest way possible.

From all of us at PREMIUM, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year!
